Towson Post

On behalf of the Officers and members of The American Legion, Towson Post 22, we wish to welcome you to our Post home. Towson, Maryland is the county seat of Baltimore County. It is also the home of Towson University, our Post is nestled between downtown Towson and the University. The Post is within walking distance to over 50 bar/restaurants and shops. The Towson Marriott is one block away from the Post.

Besides being the final destination point for the Legacy Ride, Towson Post 22 will also be hosting the National American Legion Riders Meeting on Thursday, August 27th at 10 am.

The Towson Marriott is unique in that it was originally built as condominiums and therefore does not have traditional hotel rooms. All of the units are suites with a living room and kitchen. There are 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units available for up to 4 guests in a unit.

There is a Swing Dance at the Post every Friday night with a live band. This is for people who love to dance, no food except for munchies and no alcohol. Also, during the summer, Towson has its’ “Feet on the Street” program every Friday evening.  One block is shut down and there is a band, beer truck and the restaurants have tables on the sidewalk so everyone can enjoy the music.

In addition, starting Friday, August 28th, the Maryland State Fair opens and is only a few miles from Towson Post 22. Part of the fair, starting on Saturday, August 29th, will be horse racing. Post time is 1 pm.

For those who love to shop, there is Towson Town Center, a large shopping mall, located about 1 mile from our Post.

For those attending the National Convention, you have an option to take the Light Rail to downtown Baltimore. The Light Rail will drop you off at the Convention Center – no need to pay for parking. The trip takes about 15 minutes.

As you can see, there are lots of things to do in Towson and most are within walking distance. It is the goal of Towson Post 22 to make your stay in Towson a very enjoyable one.
